Non-destructive testing of pressure equipment-1

Technical level of pressure equipment testing
The radiation detection technology is divided into three levels: A level --- low sensitivity technology; AB level --- medium sensitivity technology; B level --- high sensitivity technology

The choice of radiographic technology level should meet the requirements of relevant regulations, specifications, standards and design technical documents, and also meet other technical requirements agreed by the contracting parties. Radiographic inspection of welded joints of pressure equipment should generally be performed using AB-level radiographic inspection techniques. For welded joints made by important equipment, structures, special materials and special welding processes, Class B technology can be used for inspection.

When certain conditions in the test can not meet the requirements of AB-level (or B-level) radiographic detection technology, effective compensation measures (such as the use of higher-grade films) are required. The provisions of AB-level (or B-level) ray detection technology can be considered to be based on AB-level (or B-level) ray detection technology.

In the inspection of pressure-bearing equipment, if certain conditions of the test cannot meet the AB-level radiographic detection technology, effective compensation measures (such as the use of higher-grade films) can be taken to perform radiographic detection using A-level technology.

Pressure equipment testing area
For non-welded welded joints, the following conditions must be met
(A) For butt welds, the inspection area includes the weld metal and adjacent wood areas with at least 5 mm of opposite weld edges.
(B) For the fillet weld of the socket, the inspection area includes the weld metal and the area of the adjacent base metal or the plug-in main pipe (or the cylinder, the head, and the flat lamp) that is at least 5 mm from the edge of the weld. Adjacent base metal area.

Pressure Surface Testing Surface Requirements
Prior to radiographic inspection, the surface of the welded joint shall be visually inspected and qualified. The image of the irregular state of the surface on the negative film must not cover up or interfere with the defective image, otherwise the surface should be appropriately corrected.
