NDT TEST-Eddy current testing technology

Using the principle of electromagnetic induction, non-destructive evaluation of certain properties of conductive materials and their attack by measuring changes in induced eddy currents in the attack, or a non-destructive detection method for defects, called eddy current testing.

Eddy current testing can only be used for the detection of conductive materials. High detection efficiency for profiles such as tubes, rods and wires.

1. The basic principle of eddy current testing
When the detection coil carrying the alternating current of the room is close to the conductive workpiece, due to the action of the magnetic field of the coil, eddy currents will be induced in the workpiece (the parameters such as the size and the defects in the workpiece), and the reaction magnetic field of the eddy current Chancheng will The impedance of the detection coil is changed. Therefore, under the condition that the shape size of the workpiece and the distance between the detectors are fixed, it is possible to determine whether or not the workpiece to be tested is defective by measuring the change in the impedance of the detecting coil.

2. Factors used to influence eddy current characteristics
(1) Flaw detection: defect shape, size and position
(2) Material sorting: conductivity
(3) Thickness measurement: detection distance and sheet thickness
(4) Size inspection: the size and shape of the workpiece
(5) Physical quantity measurement (radial amplitude, axial displacement and measurement of motion trajectory): distance between workpiece and detection coil
